1996 vw golf wheel & tire size |

im thinking about getting some wheels and tires, i dont know what size tire to get, i have found some 16" and 17" rims.
i dont want to offset it or lower the golf i just want to get some sizes of tires to put on either 16 or 17" wheels.
any help i could get would be greatly appreciated im a newb when it comes to car stuff.

hi, it depends if you have a 1996 golf mk1 or mk3, i have an mk3 with 17 inch wheels and it looks perfect with the standard ride height, it looks perfect, not too high, not too low. you can see it on www.zoopedup.co.za/ajitesh-zn if you are interested.

hey thanks a lot the picture really helped. i dont think its either mk3 or mk1 its a 4 door GL i want to murder it out flat black i already got some wheels picked out some 16" flat black exel race rims. 400 bucks. and it can come in a tire package for 735.00 i just want to make sure they'll fit. i chose 17" and they said there isnt a tire that fits these rims on a 1996 vw golf GL. so i was confused because ive seen it done.
