1996 Jetta hard to start in warm weather |
|
I need some help. I have a 1996 Jetta that doesn't want to start when the weather gets warmer out. The engine turns over fine, just does not fire. If I squirt some starter fluid into the intake it starts and runs great. In the evening or early in the morning when cool out it fires right up and runs fine. I've replaced the mass airflow sensor, manifold temp sensor, fuel pressure regulator, coolant temp sensor, fuel filter, and checked the fuel pump to make sure it is working. I'm running out of ideas here. Has anyone else run into this problem or know what else I can check? Oh, and I get no warning lights or anything on the dash. Help please!

I have the same problem with my '89 Jetta. If i let it set about 15 minutes or so, it'll fire up again. It may not do it again all day.
