1996 Jetta 2.0 for $1400 cash - good deal?

83K miles, white exterior, black interior, in great condition, body looks great, it needs a computer and an A/C recharge.... actually, the computer part that is messed up is just the fuel pump, which has been diverted to run when the vehicle is started....

anybody know of any major problems with this year model Jetta? i hope i'm asking this in the right forum cuz it's not a TDI model.......

i'm going to pick it up during lunch for a test drive today...

any details about gas mileage and problems that i may encounter would be greatly appreciated....

I just recently purchased an 95 jetta 2.0 for 2500. Everyone said that i got ripped off. I think it's a great price personally, Mine only has 88,000 miles on it.

I would say go for it if you like it. A lot of people put me down for buying it because they said i got cheated, but just listen to what you think is right, and go with it.

I've had it for a week now and really like it.

sounds like a really good deal to me! i paid 3200 for a 97 with 90,000 miles in may so unless its a hunk of junk i would pay that for it.
