hey folks, looking at a buddy's 1996 GTI vr6... 100k miles, only modifications are intake, exhaust, and stage 3 weight reduction kit... the car is running mint.. i dont think its going to crap out on me any time soon if i were to buy it for 3800 cash.. my other friends are telin me its gonna be garbage and im going to be replacing parts every day. what you guys think?

car wont be garbage.
in a car that age though things like shocks, brake components and the clutch might need to be replaced but that just goes with the age of the car.
engine is bullet proof, as is gearbox and the rest of the drivetrain.
