00 gti vr6 cyl misfires |
|
I have 2000 gti vr6, recently it started running like shit when it was raining. when it was dry it ran fine. Now it runs like shit all the time. cel came on, emission workshop, i checked it with the obc. i have multiple cylinder misfires. i changed the plugs(put in bosch plat 4), changed the spark plug wires, and the 400 dollar coilpack. and it did absolutely nothing. It still misfiring. and running like garbage rain or shine.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions. i greatly appreciate any suggestions or help.

i have a 03 gti and i had the same problem. mine is the 1.8t and im not sure on the differences between the vr6 besides it being a 6 cylinder but i changed my coils and had to get plugs from a VW dealer.. the guy at the dealer told me plugs from auto zone or where ever dont work with the type of engine and will make it misfire.

might sound really stupid, but try getting oem spark plugs, I've heard people having problems with anything else, especially bosch. Other then that, there is nothing else that would cause that electrically, and I can't think of anything otherwise that would be the problem. Usually this problem screams coil pack, but you obviously already changed it.

This is the plug you should be running BOSCH Super FGR8KQE these ar the plugs I run and they are factory replacement.
Platnuim plugs do not work in VR6 at all no mater what brand.
Good luck with these they will help.
Hey what brand of plug wire did you find and use?
